Icon fonts are very popular, but they also have their pitfalls. Ian Feather discussed the reasons for switching from icon fonts to SVG, and CSS Tricks proposed some considerations when choosing between icon or SVG font systems. As a rebuttal, Peconic pointed out that there are 10 more symbol fonts than SVG. These are just things to consider before using symbol fonts.
